My knees have been hurting for two plus years now and its only been getting worse with time. The pain has caused my to stop running, turn down hiking opportunities, and generally fear that amputation would be in my future.
Today I went to talk to the DOCTOR OF SPORTS MEDICINE. He said many things, but what it boils down to is that I need to stretch more. In fact, with Physical Therapy aided stretching and training I will likely be able to run moderate distances with no pain at all in a mere 4-6 weeks.
4 TO 6 WEEKS. I spend two years fucking around and this guy says that I'll be running again in 6 weeks. What a waste of time. Great news for my running future, pathetic insight into decisions of the recent past.
On another note. I hate going to the doctor's office because inevitably I am in there for a complaint, "Oh my knees ache!", but everybody else in line has crutches, hobbles, wheelchairs, or can't sit/stand up. I'm glad I'm not in that state, but I also feel guilty taking up the doctor's time. See, this is exactly how I end up waiting 2 years.

Bowled
At the dog park this morning I was taken out by a Tibetan Mastiffy. He was playing with my dog, but it was time to go so I walked fifty feet away and called Goose. Goose comes running and I start walking with him to the gate. I hear the beast coming and half turn to look at him which is when he slams into my knee. My knee bent sideways and I went down, but the dog ran on completely oblivious to his aftershock. Amazingly nobody saw it happen and despite my cursing and rolling around clutching my knee, the only nearby observer "thought I was stretching". I was able to limp home so hopefully nothing is permanently damaged but it does hurt like a bitch. It probably looked like this (but with a dog):

Malt-o-Meal, milk, and coffee.
Three pitas toasted w/ plain hummus.
Cheesus* w/ chips.
BEER and a shot of Tequila.
I rate the Cheesus a B. It was not nearly as greasy as I feared, but also not as good as I hoped. The burger was just a stock burger and didn't add much. Also, while the grilled onions were spot on, I did not get a case of napkins as promised. I'd rather have the same setup with a BLT swapped in for patty. I know, I know, GENIUS.

The Soon-to-be-Famous Burger Behemoth. We’ve done away with the bun and replaced it with two grilled cheese sandwiches. That’s right, two of them. One on top, one on the bottom. Pickles and American cheese inside one, Grilled Onion and Colby Jack in the other. Lettuce, Tomato, Ketchup, Mustard, and 1/3lb Burger in between. You won’t need to eat again for 2 days. Comes with a bag of chips and a case of napkins.

For Frank (Ted requested it too.)
Today I ate the cookie dough that I made two weeks ago, and which has been sitting in the fridge since. Leslie had some on Sunday and she hasn't died, so I polished it off.
Also, I made one peanut butter and honey and more butter sandwich for lunch followed by a half sandwich of peanut butter and Nutella.
Also, I had a breakfast of Trader Joe's Cheerios Knockoff's with the last of the milk. Water was added to bring the liquid level up to spec.
No dinner yet, but its looking like a gallon of corn. I need to go to the store.

JiminybCricket!
9 friends, 7 days of booze.
6 flies, 5 in a pile to warn the last.
3 shotguns, because it had been too long.
1 drunk slowly, tornadoes are for the plains.

Biking in SM
I passed 6 other bikers today on the 2 mile route from Cobi's to work. While 6 does not sound like much, it is the best I've seen on my Santa Monica commute. It was actually crowded at a stop light.
